Church Musician

Paul Dickson has served Trinitarian Congregational Parish as organist since April 2004. His interest in music began at age 10, when he began playing trombone in elementary school. In high school, an interest in choral music developed alongside his trombone playing. After two years of undergraduate work at Hartt College of Music in Hartford, CT., an increasing interest in the organ and church music led him to change his instrument to organ. Since graduating from Hartt College in 1979, he has served a number of churches in New England as organist and choir director.

Concurrent with a career as a church musician, Paul worked for about twenty years as a computer programmer for banks in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
Since moving to Maine in 2001, he has worked as a boatbuilder, church office administrator, and most recently has begun a business tuning and repairing pianos. Paul lives on Mount Desert Island with his wife, Mimi, and with Tyler, the beagle.
