weddings at the trinitarian congregational parish of castine

Picture

Under the elms and by the sea: that’s the phrase often used to describe the peacefulness and beauty of Castine, Maine.  It’s no wonder that Castine is a popular location for weddings, especially during our short but delightful summer season.  For scenic and historic beauty in a quiet, coastal setting, it’s hard to find a better place.

We are pleased to provide our historic church building as a venue for weddings in Castine.  As an open & affirming congregation in the United Church of Christ, our church building and the services of our pastor are available for the weddings of couples of all sexual orientations and gender identities.

Feel free to reach out to Pastor Andi at (207) 326-9486 or [email protected] if you have a questions or want to explore the possibility of having your wedding at our church!

A church wedding

As a Christian church in the congregational tradition, we understand a church wedding to be a sacred event — the blessing by God of a lifelong relationship.  You do not need to be Christian to be married here, but we do expect that weddings held in our church will be approached as sacred ceremonies.  Pastor Andi enjoys working with each couple to create a wedding ceremony that authentically represents the religious and spiritual traditions and beliefs of the two people being married.

If you are considering a civil ceremony for your wedding (a ceremony that will be presided over by someone other than an ordained or licensed clergy representative) or are interested in having a clergy person from another denomination or faith tradition preside, please reach out to discuss with us your plans and intentions, and we will consider whether those plans will work well in our church sanctuary.

You can find an overview of our facilities here.
